Playa de Monsul Beach

The Playa de Monsul is one o the most beautiful beaches in the world. It is located in the province of Almeria in Southern Spain, in the Natural Park of Cabo de Gata-Nijar. The nearest airports are in Almeria, Murcia and Alicante. Playa de Monsul is relatively a quieter beach and less frequented by tourism. That in fact makes it an ideal choice for tourists who prefer a little more solitude. The beach is home to a volcano with moonlike appearance and is replete with lava cliffs and grey sandy beaches with sparkling waters.

Playa de Monsul Beach

Infact Steven Spielberg had shot a portion of Indian Jones on this beach. You would remember the scene where you could see screen icon Sean Connery chasing the fluttering umbrella on the banks of the river!! It's about 400 meters in length and as a result has been divided into two parts by a tombolo. The soil erosion that has been caused as a result of it is any photographers delight. With shallow waters this is the perfect spot where you could picnic with families and children. The children can waddle in the beach all day and the huge rocks are also helpful in providing shade if you need them. The water is also clear with little fish swimming close to your ankles.
